Running all of the servers on MAMP (nginx, apache, mysql) with port ranges above 1024 allows the Mac OS X account you logged in with to launch the services, so you will not be asked for a password in this instance. Im using MAMP Pro so not 100 sure if the interface is same for MAMP. ![]() In preferences, make sure that ports values are 80 for Apache port and 3306 for MySQL port. It should be in the Server section and under the General tab. Start and Stop of MAMP server requires admin Mac credentials. so I started with 16.04 32b and ran into irreconcilable configuration issues. I believe all you need to do is open up MAMP (not the webstart) and change it to use Ports 80, 443 & 3306 instead of MAMPS ports which one of them is 8888. Mamp is ok in that it has the correct version of PHP but the PHP stuff I downloaded only has instructions related to a Unix platform. In the MAMP Preferences Preferences in the MAMP application menu: You can change the port used by Apache to avoid conflicts with Skype and other applications. not sure if someone has already written a dependency thread for PHPMyAdmin but would make it easier for those of us that don't do this every day. If conflicts continue to arise and you need both MAMP and Skype running at the same time, you can change the port used by Apache. MAMP will restart itself with the new default ports configured. Click on Set to default Apache and MySQL ports. Mamp and Xampp kind of make us lazy by doing all this setup automatically. This settings adjustment in MAMP is simple: Open up MAMP and hit the Preferences button. I believe the 404 issue has to do with my creating a /var/all of the instructions with regards to apache, lamp and PHPMyAdmin appear to expect users to be using /var/based on the instructions in this thread, after I substituted for in the ln command, PHPMyAdmin now works from an intranet web request. Just went through this myself with a clean install of 20.04 in a VM. ![]()
